Walter provides analysis of the issues, trends, and events that shape the political environment. She has been political director of ABC News, editor-in-chief of National Journal’s The Hotline, where she served as the political publication's primary voice. She provided regular analysis of the national political environment in her weekly column, On the Trail. From 1997 to 2007, she covered the US House as senior editor with the Cook Political Report. A regular panelist on PBS's Washington Week with Gwen Ifill, Walter has provided political analysis on almost every major political television program. She was a member of CNN's Emmy Award-winning election night team in 2006. Walter was named one of DC's 50 Top Journalists by Washingtonian Magazine in 2009 and honored with the Washington Post's Crystal Ball award for her election predictions in 2000. FULL BIO
